GAINESVILLE, GA— Kubota Manufacturing of America Corp. plans to invest $140 million to build a new assembly plant here, adding 500 workers to the 3,000 it already employs in the region.

The expansion will almost double the company’s manufacturing capacity. The company expects the plant to improve quality and efficiency through better welding and painting.
Kubota opened a $90 million research and development facility in Gainesville in April, which will eventually employ 200. The new 650,000-square-foot assembly will be located across a highway from that facility.
The factory is expected to assemble 700 loaders a day.
